Race One For Humboldt Outlaw Karts This Saturday
Eureka, CA (May 4, 2021) – Outlaw kart racing returns for another season Saturday as the Humboldt Outlaw Karts will be in action on the 1/8-mile dirt bullring at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds. Saturday’s event will mark the first of a seven-race schedule in 2021 and is being presented by John’s Used Cars And Auto Wreckers. As always, all seven divisions will be in action.
The PeeWee Predators is the Humboldt Outlaw Karts’ entry level division. Drivers in this class are starting off their racing careers completely from scratch or have very little experience behind the wheel of an outlaw kart. The Champagne Attorney Beginner Box Stocks is the next step up for racers. This division focuses on drivers who have some racing experience but still are learning the ropes. The box stocks are HOK’s next step for young racers. The competition and speeds are higher in the box stocks with more experienced and aggressive drivers at the wheel.
Fortuna Wheel & Brakes’ Old Fart Kart division gives “older” racers an opportunity to race on the dirt. The class is designed to be laid back in its nature but still provides thrilling competition. The pure stock class features karts that look akin to those that race on road courses. Driver skill plays a major factor due to the high speeds and the wingless nature of these karts.
The 125/250cc karts is the next step for most drivers who make the move up from box stock karts. The NorCal Automotive 500cc/open karts are HOKs fastest division. The karts in both divisions are the same as those that race across the country and are quite popular. NASCAR drivers such as Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick and Matt DiBenedetto have used these karts as a stepping stone that ultimately furthered their careers in racing.
The gates for Saturday’s event open at 10:00 AM with practice starting at 11:00 AM. Racing will begin at 3:00 PM. For more, visit www.HumboldtOutlawKarts.com or find HOK on Facebook.
